Kick Cancer In The Butt
I'm sure everybody knows one person that has been affected by cancer. It's a nasty, dirty thing and needs to be stopped so why not come listen to some music to stop it?
Most people know about the Curing Cancer Music Fest in Ballinger, TX that Elizabeth Cook puts on. If you don't know about it you are missing out! Mark it on your calendar for October 12th and 13th in Ballinger. This is completely non-profit for both Elizabeth and the musicians that play at the festival. Last year $26,000 was raised and given to the American Cancer Society. Elizabeth teams up with great people every year to put on the show and sponsorship is still available.
Last year the line up included Buckshot Bradley, Chris Knight, Bleu Edmondson, Larry Joe Taylor, Mark 'The Prez' McKinney, Rich O'Toole, Haden Burchard and many many more. Last year tickets were $20 in advance and $25 at the gate with camping available. Oh yea, it's BYOB! That's really not a bad price. Last year it was in April and extremely hot however this year it is in October and should be much cooler and in turn this should lead to some better after parties!
Why not come out and listen to some awesome Texas/Red Dirt music, party it up and make new friends this October for the Curing Cancer Music Fest? When it comes down to it, this party cures cancer so BRING IT WEST TEXAS!
