Austin-based Mike and the Moonpies have a new video to a very cool song called “Mockingbird”.

The video traces lead singer Mike Harmeier’s country music upbringing. Highlights include a young Harmeier singing onstage in 1994 and getting a fan photo with George Strait. Filmed at a club in New Braunfels, the video is full of 90's country memorabilia. A lot of this is do to the upbringing he had with his father.

“My dad didn’t play music but has a wealth of knowledge about country music artists and through his involvement with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was able to rub elbows with a lot of our heroes,” Harmeier told Rolling Stone. “I feel like I’m constantly chasing that feeling that I had when I was hanging out with him and his friends.” Mike got to hang out with people like Clint Black, George Strait, and many more great artist growing up.

“Mockingbird” is the title track to Mike & the Moonpies 2015 album which pays tribute to Harmeier’s father and grandfather.

Mike and the Moonpies are one of the hardest working bands on the Texas Music Scene always carrying a heavy touring schedule. They are currently touring Texas, Oklahoma and the midwest.
