It's all about the Holidays as we get closer and closer to Christmas...just days away. Check out the holiday happenings you will find this week in the Concho Valley that we have listed for you to enjoy!

The Concho Christmas Tour of Lights is now underway and continues through December 31st. Pack everyone in the car and drive the 2.5 miles along the banks of the Concho River through the “Tour of Lights.” Enjoy over 3 million lights in a number of Holiday displays. The Tour begins at 1st Street & Abe (just north of the Post Office). A donation of $5 per vehicle may be made at start of tour.

You can help Jeff Mcguire at Blaine's Pub This Sunday, Dec. 18th beginning at noon. Admission is $10 per person for great food, a live auction and more. Buy tickets to win a Yeti Cooler full of jerky & dried sausage at Sklenarik's Meats in Miles for $5 per ticket or 5 tickets for $20. Fort Concho VFW Post 1815, at 125 S. Browning Street, is having their Christmas Family Night from 6-9 this Friday night (12/16). Enjoy food for a $5 donation, washer tournament, a silent auction, games for the kids, and everyone is asked to bring a stuffed animal to be donated to help kids. The Downtown Stroll takes place once again this Thursday, Dec. 15th from 5-9 pm and
features a variety of galleries and art exhibits, restaurants, merchants, museums, library exhibits, music venues, and more. An added bonus for December are all of the Christmas displays and lights downtown. Ride the Trolley for free starting at 6 pm with stops along the way. Christmas at the Santa Fe Depot is open from 6-9 every Friday and Saturday evening through December 30th, except for Christmas Day. Santa will be at the Depot during the shows so Children of all ages can talk to him, his helpers and get their pictures taken. The show features a special Christmas story for children at 7 PM. Also a Christmas Craft room will be open so children can make special Christmas decorations and gifts. Call 486-2140 for more information.

Cactus Market Day is this Saturday, Dec. 17th from 10-5 at the parking lot across the street from the Cactus Hotel. Shop for handmade items from local crafters, get your picture made with Santa from 10-4, see belly dancers from Noon until 1 and much more. You can even rent vendor space by calling Judy at 949-6200.

Each year, the First Christian Church of San Angelo presents a living nativity scene, complete with live animals, located at the end of the Tour of Lights at the south end of the Farmer's Market Pavilion on Oakes Street. Remaining dates to enjoy this year's live nativity scene are December 16 - 22, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. each night. For more information, call the First Christian Church at 653-4523.

Everyone is invited to enjoy Christmas in the State Park this Saturday, December 17th from 2:00 - 8:30 pm. Entry fees are waived for this event! There will be tours, ornament decorating, hot cocoa and cookies with Santa around the campfire and more. Call 949-8935 for more information.
