Country singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson has a new project. He’ll be performing the theme song for HBO’s new series, 'Vinyl' which premieres for its first season on Feb. 14th.

The show's producers include Mick Jagger, Martin Scorsese, and Terence Winter. The series centers around a record executive trying to save his music label and has a six figure budget just for music.....for each episode!

Vinyl is set in the 1970's in New York and reportedly will feature nearly 30 songs per episode.

Sturgill  as one of the most authentic country musicians on the scene today. His raw talent, great vocals, and compelling lyrics have led to a very successful 2015 for the singer-songwriter—including a big win at this year’s American Music Awards and a big publishing deal.

Be on the lookout for HBO's 'Vinyl' featuring Sturgill Simpson.
