Below is a listing of many closings for the Thanksgiving Holiday so you are not caught by surprise.

Most City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 &27, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Banks and Financial Institutions will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

There will be no garbage collection or landfill operations on Thanksgiving Day. Residents whose scheduled collection day is Thursday will receive service on Friday, Nov. 27. Residents whose normal collection day is Friday will receive service on Saturday, Nov. 28.

Among City operations that will be closed Nov. 26-27 are: Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the McNease Convention Center, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court, the San AngeloNature Center and the San Angelo Animal Shelter.

Fort Concho will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Fort, including the Barracks 1 Visitor Center, will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, for self-guided tours. The Fort will be open during its normal weekend hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29. The visitor center will have available for sale passes and tickets to Christmas at Old Fort Concho on Dec. 4-6 and Weldon Henson’s Cowboy Christmas Dance on Dec. 3 in the Fort’s stables.

The Animal Shelter will also be closed Saturday, Nov. 28. The Nature Center will be open from noon-5 p.m. Saturday.

City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30.
