The Running for Runnels 5K will be this Saturday, Nov. 28th at Tractor Supply in Ballinger. All ages are invited to participate with the run beginning at 9 am. Entry fee is $20 per person and you can enter at the County Extension office, 608 Sealy Ave., Suite A. Proceeds benefit the Senior Center and 4-H Club.
The 44th annual Chicken Farm Art Center Open House is being held November 27th - 29th. Come help the Chicken Farm Art Center celebrate 44 years in business. Artists, music, ceramics, food and entertainment. 2505 Martin Luther King Blvd. For more information, call (325) 653-4936.
The Christmas at Fort Concho's 18th Gingerbread House & Cookie Contest is accepting entries now through Dec.1st. There are 2 categories for the Gingerbread contest and both contests have age classes from 6 to adult. Get all the entry information at fortconcho.com.
You and your family are invited to enjoy Santa's Santa Fe Christmas 2015 from 6-9 pm November 28th – December 26th & January 2nd. Santa’s Santa Fe Christmas will feature live music, children’s activities, and beautiful holiday decorations throughout the Depot. Jolly Ole St. Nick will also be on hand to celebrate this special time of year. Santa will be here every Friday and Saturday through the 19th of December. Admission 12 years and up $5, 4 to 11 years old $3 under 4 free, 10% discount to military and age 65 and up.
When you are shopping on Black Friday, look for the Marines at HEB, the new Walmart store and the Walmart on Sherwood Way, and also at Best Buy, and at the Mall. Donate cash or a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots. Your donation will help insure every child in the Concho Valley will have a great Christmas.
The City of San Angelo is auctioning 51 lots and items of surplus vehicles and other equipment through Nov. 24 at renebates.com. Among the available items seized are vehicles, pickup trucks, a sports utility vehicle, a tractor, a dump truck, air hockey, foosball and ping-pong tables, and a wide assortment of miscellaneous items. The 6th annual Seniors Still Believe Campaign is underway now through December 9th at the Mall. Stop by the Christmas tree near the South entrance, pick out an ornament, buy the item listed, then drop off your generous donation at the Meals for the Elderly office.
