The 33rd Spring Chicken Affair is this Sunday

This is a great opportunity to get a good old fashioned chicken dinner and enjoy some live entertainment at the same time.

You know that after doing this for 33 years, this chicken dinner is going to be delicious, it always is! For $8.00 you get chicken, green beans, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes with gravy.

Around 200 volunteers help out to make this happen annually with a special thanks to HEB for donating the chicken, and to the San Angelo Restaurant Association for all that they contribute.

This event runs like clockwork with 26 fryers cooking about 10,000 pieces of chicken to serve around 5,000 people. There are 4 serving lines plus a drive through if you want to get it to go.

The Divas will be providing live music throughout the event and they are very entertaining. Also, new this year Thunderstruck Mobile Gaming will be there with a trailer full of video games to play.

The Spring chicken affair raises about $54,000 on average for the rehab center, a nonprofit organization providing outpatient therapy in San Angelo, Abilene and Ozona, regardless of patients’ ability to pay.
